Party Like a Chef began in 2009 when Chef Lydia Neergaard started hosting live, interactive cooking parties in clients’ homes — bringing people together through food and hands-on culinary experiences. After winning Win This Space in Sylvan Lake, Lydia and her husband Sean took a leap of faith to open a full-scale commercial kitchen and storefront built on scratch-made, wholesome food.
Today, rebranded as Party Chef, the business has evolved far beyond its beginnings. What started as a market and experiential kitchen has grown into a vibrant culinary hub offering catering, cooking classes, meal prep, frozen meals, weekday lunches — and now a beautifully designed Event and Meeting Rental Space. Our newly pivoted space transforms what was once our market into a welcoming venue for celebrations, corporate meetings, workshops, and private gatherings, with in-house culinary services to make hosting seamless.
Having lived in Sylvan Lake her entire life, Lydia is deeply rooted in the community. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with local families, producers, and Canadian suppliers while strengthening the Central Alberta economy.
At Party Chef, we believe food connects people. From garden and farm-to-table ingredients to interactive culinary education and thoughtfully prepared meals, everything we do is centered around bringing our community together — around the table and beyond.

Deadlines, Refunds, Cancellations & Pick up Info
All private parties, events, and custom orders require a minimum of 8 days’ notice for cancellation. Deposits are fully refundable up to 8 days prior to the scheduled event or order date.
Due to advance purchasing and preparation of ingredients, we are unable to offer refunds for orders not picked up or events not attended without at least 48 hours’ notice.
All pickups take place at our building located at 4904 50th Ave, Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Pickup times must be scheduled in advance. If arrival is more than 15 minutes past the scheduled time, availability cannot be guaranteed.
We appreciate your understanding as this policy allows us to maintain the highest quality and service for every client.
Payment Info
Party Chef offers payment through all major credit cards, debit, e-transfer and cash. Party Chef ensures that your personal details are secure and the payment processing is safe and reliable.
